FAQs
Here are our most Frequently Asked Questions...
Are Android and web applications on the roadmap?
ArchitectBuddies was designed from the ground up to leverage the Apple platform — particularly SwiftUI and SwiftData — which allowed us to build a very responsive modelling experience on iPad and Mac.
The initial focus is therefore the Apple ecosystem, but we’ll watch how things evolve. We'd love to understand what devices people would like to run ArchitectBuddies™ on.
Are Pro subscriptions available?
Pro subscriptions are not currently available as we finalise updates to the platform.
We’ll share further updates soon.
What can I use the ArchitectBuddies™ app for?
There are lots of great use cases for ArchitectBuddies™. Here are just a few. Please let us know how you use it...
Portable modelling tool
1) Take your models to your stakeholders
2) Rapid exploration of design options (a scratch pad) - quickly develop and iterate architecture views
Augmented Architecture Practice
1) Rapid development of models, increasing the speed of iterative design with the help of AI assistants
2) Automation of repetitive tasks, such as adding meaningful brief descriptions to all elements, changing types
3) Expressing ArchiMate® views as 'non-technical' illustrations for communicating with stakeholders
4) Importing and exporting models to and from formal enterprise tools via the Archimate® Exchange Format
Is ArchitectBuddies™ an 'ArchiMate® Certified ' tool?
No. ArchitectBuddies™ is not “certified” on the ArchiMate® Tool Certification Register. However, ArchitectBuddies™ is aimed for use by professional Enterprise Architects, organisations, students and trainers. As such, it aims to fulfil all conformance requirements of the Archimate® Exchange Format. Users must always validate outputs.
Can I use ArchitectBuddies™ for commercial purposes?

Why do you charge additional for some skill and pattern packs?
We are continually aiming to provide value for money whilst looking to cover business licensing costs and support a small developer team to maintain this great app. iOS is continually undergoing exciting changes, as is the development of APIs used for Artificial Intelligence, large language models and agents.
Are there more features in development?
Yes. We have many more exciting features in development. Sign up to our mailing list to keep informed.
Have you post-trained Large Language Models?
Simple answer - No.
We respect the intellectual property of people and organisations who work to develop and promote Architecture in all its forms.
ArchitectBuddies uses existing Large Language Models (LLMs) and does not use Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) over standards documentation.
