No. ArchitectBuddies™ is not “certified” on the ArchiMate® Tool Certification Register. However, ArchitectBuddies™ is aimed for use by professional Enterprise Architects, organisations, students and trainers. As such, it aims to fulfil all conformance requirements of the Archimate® Exchange Format.

Yes.  HytsioAboa Software has a business license from The Open Group to use the Archimate® specification for the purpose of creating and releasing ArchitectBuddies™.  By subscribing to the Archimate® Notation option, you may use the output of ArchitectBuddies™.  The use of the Archimate® specification is governed by The Open Group licensing agreements. Please see The Open Group for its licensing requirements: TOG Licensing

Beta release testing of ArchitectBuddies is the stage where the app is shared with a limited group of real users outside the development team. These users test the app in real-world conditions to identify bugs, usability issues, or performance problems that developers might have missed. Feedback from this phase helps improve the app before its official release on the App Store. 

We are continually aiming to provide value for money whilst supporting a small developer team to maintain and add to the features of this great app.  iOS is continually undergoing exciting changes, as is the development of APIs used for Artificial Intelligence, large language models and agents. 
 

The application will be available to download for free from the Apple app store.

• The free version supports a limited number of elements and canvases to be created and does not support save/export or workflow automation.

The following subscription options are available as in-app purchases with the latest, regional prices advertised on the app store:

• ArchiMate® Notation Subscription: Provides access to the full ArchiMate® element palette, unlimited canvases, and save/export functionality.

• Workflow Automation Subscription: Enables AI-powered architecture assistance features. Requires an active notation subscription and either your own API key for a cloud-based LLM service (e.g., Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, AI/ML, AIX, or Ollama Cloud) or a downloaded .gguf model file capable of tool support on mobile devices.

Note: Additional notation subscriptions (SysML-like, UML-like) and skills subscriptions (TOGAF-like, ISO 15288-like) may be offered in future releases.
